Mineral Springs
The spa company Lázně Luhačovice, a.s. manages the Vincentka mineral spring as well as nine additional natural mineral springs.
The mineral waters of Luhačovice are characterised by a high content of dissolved minerals and their natural enrichment with free carbon dioxide. Their temperature ranges between 10 and 14 °C. Due to their unique composition, they are considered among the most significant mineral springs in Europe.
The best-known mineral spring in Luhačovice is Vincentka.

VINCENTKA MINERAL SPRING
The Best-Known Spring of Luhačovice
The Best-Known Spring of Luhačovice
- Location: Spa Square
- Type: Natural, highly mineralised bicarbonate-chloride-sodium mineral water, naturally carbonated and containing iodine
- Yield: 14 litres per minute · available cold or heated · depth 50.2 metres
Vincentka is the landmark mineral spring of Luhačovice. This highly mineralised water, rich in iodine and other valuable trace elements, is used for both drinking cures and inhalation therapy. It rises directly at the Spa Square and is drawn from a depth of 50.2 metres.
The history of the spring dates back to the 18th century, when it was known as the “Main Spring”. Its current name honours Count Vincenz von Serényi, who played a key role in the development of the spa town. Originally, the spring was protected by a chapel adorned with paintings and bearing the inscription: “For the comfort of the sick and the joy of the healthy.” Today, Vincentka is housed in a modern colonnade building, renovated in 2019.
Vincentka can be enjoyed directly at the source, either cold or gently heated. As the symbol of Luhačovice Spa, it represents one of the town’s most valuable natural therapeutic resources.

Aloiska MINERAL SPRING
One of the Oldest Springs in Luhačovice
- Location: Park near Villa Vlasta
- Type: Natural, highly mineralised bicarbonate-chloride-sodium mineral water, naturally carbonated and containing iodine
- Yield: 3 litres per minute · cold · depth 14.4 metres
Aloiska is one of the oldest mineral springs in Luhačovice and was already known before 1770. Originally referred to as the “Forest Spring” or the “Spring on the Hill”, it took the form of a small well. In 1904, the spring was structurally secured for the first time, and in the 1930s it was re-developed through a 14.4-metre-deep borehole. During this period, it received its current name, Aloiska. The present pavilion dates from 1963.
The spring is used for drinking cures, particularly in the treatment of digestive disorders. It is freely accessible to the public, and visitors may draw the mineral water directly at the source.

Ottovka MINERAL SPRING
The Third Best-Known Spring of Luhačovice
- Location: Within the spa grounds, above the tennis courts
- Type: Natural, highly mineralised, naturally carbonated mineral water
- Yield: 3 litres per minute · cold
Ottovka is among the most recognised mineral springs in Luhačovice. Originally, the water emerged freely in a ravine known as “V Zelnici” before the spring was structurally secured in 1905 within a masonry spring house. In the 1930s, a vaulted grotto with a wrought-iron gate was constructed above the source. Nearby, an elegant circular pavilion with a fountain was built, from which the mineral water flows freely throughout the year.
The spring was named after Count Otto von Serényi. Its distinctive water jet has become so characteristic that it is now incorporated into the spa’s logo. Ottovka is freely accessible to the public, and visitors may draw the mineral water directly from the fountain.

Dr. ŠťastnÝ MINERAL SPRING
The Most Remarkable Spring in Luhačovice
- Location: Within the spa grounds, near the Inhalatorium
- Type: Natural, highly mineralised bicarbonate-chloride-sodium mineral water, naturally carbonated and containing iodine
- Yield: 5 litres per minute · cold
The Dr. Šťastný Mineral Spring is regarded as one of the most remarkable mineral springs in Luhačovice. It was discovered at the beginning of the 20th century during excavation works for the Janovka well. At a depth of 39 metres, a sudden eruption occurred, sending mineral water up to 13 metres into the air. This extraordinary natural phenomenon attracted attention across Europe, and the spring initially became known as the “Geyser”.
The outflow was later regulated in order to protect the yield of neighbouring springs. The spring was subsequently named in honour of Dr. František Šťastný, a native physician of Luhačovice. During the Second World War, Dr. Šťastný was executed by the Nazi regime for assisting wounded partisans.
Today, the spring is freely accessible to the public. The mineral water flows in a controlled manner at a rate of 5 litres per minute, and visitors may draw it directly at the source.

NEW jubileE MINERAL SPRING
The Youngest Spring in Luhačovice
- Location: Between the Community House and Villa “Alpenrose”
- Type: Natural, highly mineralised bicarbonate-chloride-sodium mineral water, naturally carbonated and containing iodine
- Yield: 60 litres per minute · cold · depth 50.5 metres
The New Jubilee Mineral Spring was developed in 1988 and is the youngest mineral spring in Luhačovice. Originally intended exclusively for mineral baths and inhalation therapy, it has been accessible to the public since 2013.
Surrounded by evergreen rhododendrons, the pavilion forms a peaceful oasis featuring a distinctive water element shaped like a salt crystal – a symbol of the high mineral content of Luhačovice’s waters. The mineral water can be drawn at four modern dispensing points equipped with motion sensors that respond to visitors’ presence.
The pavilion was designed by sculptor Ondřej Oliva. The wooden seating structure connecting the space with Villa “Alpenrose” was created by the artist duo Vránová. With a flow rate of 60 litres per minute, the New Jubilee Mineral Spring is the most abundant freely accessible spring in Luhačovice.
The Spa Drinking Cup – An Iconic Symbol of Luhačovice
The traditional spa drinking cup is an integral part of every medical spa stay. Our company has developed its own distinctive design, created through a design competition and now recognised as a hallmark of the Luhačovice spa tradition.
The “Labuť” (Swan) cup has won the hearts of visitors with its elegant form and innovative concept. It was designed by the renowned Czech designer Daniel Piršč, who drew inspiration from the graceful silhouette of a swan. The cup combines aesthetics with functionality – its handle flows seamlessly into a finely curved drinking spout.
The “Labuť” cup is available in four colour variations: white, black, blue and gold.
This exclusive souvenir is available only at Lázně Luhačovice facilities – at the reception desks of selected spa hotels and at the Information Centre at the Spa Colonnade.
